AMBASSADORS IN KARLSKRONA
Last week Karlskrona’s World Heritage Ambassadors had the opportunity to listen to the inspirational digital lecture “The important women of the World Heritage – about a more fair description in history” which the DUNC project arranged together with the author, guide and journalist Matilda Skoglöw. She told us among other things about what an ambassador can think of when presenting the history of a place and what to include as well as other approach angles than the traditional. For example, how to find forgotten women in history and relate this to various sources?
Among the women presented, was Alma Falk who under the signature “Måns” was a journalist at the newspaper “Barometern” for 40 years and whose photographs have been preserved. Alma Falk participated in creating the Blekinge Folklore society and through a unique inventory of natural heritages she also made sure that more parts of Blekinge became protected. The lecture was much appreciated and DUNC is now looking forward to future work with a local and an international network for ambassadors.
