On the 11-12 June 2018, DUNC attended a two day awareness raising event for the project UMBRELLA in Gdańsk. The event was organized by our associated partner, the Association of Polish Communes of Euroregion Baltic (Poland) and the Umbrella project’s partnership.
The Aim of meeting was to raise awareness about history, culture and values, but also common challenges and opportunities in the Baltic Sea Region. The event attracted more than 100 participants from organizations and institutions operating within the South Baltic region. The aim of the event was to meet new people, new partners and project ideas and to enter new cross-border and international cooperation networks.
Culture and Tourism was one of the main topics of the event. Elena Peverada from Karlskrona presented our DUNC activities & vision and participated in the panel discussion during the session on Culture and Tourism.
“It was nice to have the possibility to present DUNC, to talk about the project’s purpose, its main aspects and why it can be considered a good example in tourism and valorization of cultural heritage. There were people at the event that were interested in DUNC and in possible collaboration in the future” said Elena.
The event was brought to a close with discussions on how project UMBRELLA can help in the future to develop collaboration and support the implementation of different projects ideas. We are looking forward to the next UMBRELLA event which is planned for September in Sweden.
